The town hosts regularly scheduled western gunfight reenactments on the main street along with an annual summer-time tradition of frying an egg on the sidewalk. There are dozens of wild burros roaming the streets of Oatman; descendents of the burros that miners brought here in the 1800s.

The Oatman Hotel is another attraction you’ll want to see. It was built in 1902 and is the oldest two-story adobe building in Mojave County. It’s claim to fame is that Carole Lombard and Clark Gable honeymooned in the hotel on March 18, 1939. And if you get hungry or thirsty, there are lots of great restaurants and cowboy bars to fill that need.

Other attractions near Bullhead City include the popular town of Needles, California (30 minutes from Bullhead City) and Lake Mead National Recreation area in Nevada is a popular recreation area. Some of the activities available near Lake Mead include boating, houseboat rentals, hiking, camping, canoeing, rafting and kayaking as well as some of the country’s best fishing.

For more excursions you can drive north to sunny Las Vegas – just an hour and a half drive away – which boasts a variety of attractions, gambling, shopping, star-studded entertainment, restaurants and cultural attractions including the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and the Atomic Testing Museum.
